Basketball home game in a class of its own

The men’s basketball team of TSV Westerland has an exciting weekend ahead of them: Just two weeks ago, they won with a lead of more than 20 points against second-placed Vorwärts Kiel, and now they are playing at home against the Oberliga team, BSG Kisdorf Kaltenkirchen. For this exciting game, the Sylt-based team, who have made it into the circle of the last six teams on their way to the cup final, need every possible support: “We may be the underdog in this game, but we will do everything we can to win,” promises coach Goetz Petersen. “But for the right motivation, our team needs as many cheering fans as possible.” Anyone who would like to support the Westerlanders in their game is cordially invited: The game starts on Saturday, March 26, at 1 p.m. in the gymnasium at the Westerland School Center.
