18 medals for TSV Westerland swimmers

On Saturday and Sunday, 18. and On 19 March, ten swimmers from the competition group of TSV Westerland started at the two-day Neptune Swimming Festival in the University Swimming Hall in Kiel. A total of 26 clubs from five federal states started at this traditional event with almost 300 swimmers. Despite this great competition, the swimmers of TSV Westerland were able to take home a total of 18 medals. The most successful participant of TSV Westerland was Vasilisa Khramkov (born in 2012). Vasilisa won a total of six medals (four times 1st place, twice 3rd place) and improved her personal bests in the 50 meter freestyle and 200 meter individual medley. Lennart Guetari finished first in the 2011 1,500 meter freestyle, and Lennart also won the bronze medal in the 50 meter butterfly and 100 meter freestyle. Three medals in 2011 also went to Leni Klukas. Leni finished second in the 100-meter breaststroke and third in the 200-meter breaststroke and 50-meter backstroke. Hailey-Moreen Klusch (born in 2007) won four medals. Hailey won the 200-meter backstroke in her year, as well as the silver medal in the 50-meter backstroke and bronze in the 200-meter individual medley and 100-meter backstroke. Two more bronze medals were awarded to Anna-Sophie Tödtmann (born in 2009) and Chiara Ruge (born in 2008) in the 200 meter breaststroke. Cynthia Lüpkes, Jil Vohsen, Karolina Wahnes (all born in 2009) and Marlene Maier (born in 2011) rounded off the good performance of the TSV swimmers with personal bests and top placings. Four swimmers from the competition group of TSV Westerland (Vasilisa Khramkov, Leni Klukas, Hailey-Moreen Klusch and Lennart Guetari) qualified for the first time for this year’s national championships on 1. and April 2 in Flensburg.
